Here Fishy Fishy ....

It was hardcore deep sea fishing lads on tour time - yeah !!

Put five of the most inexperienced fishermen on a boat with about 30 other people and what do you get?  Well let's see ....

It all started out innocently - just a boat full of people patiently waiting for the push off, or kick off or whatever it's called in fishing terms.

It didn't take very long to degenerate into something else .... what doesn't beer go with?

Rob discovers a vital contributor to having any hope of success, while Thijs is either expressing his approval or (more likely) has rigged Rob's rod.

There were plenty of opportunities to get acquainted with our live bait buddies - Mr. Anchovy and friends ...

... though more often than not, it was followed by plenty of this.  "Come here you little ?!#*".
Having failed to land the elusive Mr. Fishy Fishy, things started going South.  "I can't go home empty handed" ...

But some of us really should have gone for that option.  I caught 5 (scout's honor), though the other 4 were EVEN smaller as hard as that is to believe.

You thought it was small - well imagine how small it was after filleting (for which I had to pay a dollar).  In fact you'll HAVE to imagine it because clearly this camera doesn't have sufficient resolution to capture the meaty meal that was my Mr. Fishy.  To be honest, both crew and passengers all had a good laugh at this i.e. me !
Conclusion: If you don't have to bring your own gear, there's no one puking from either the rocking back and forth or the smell of diesel; you don't have to gut your own fish ... and more importantly you're not catching any fish - then it's NOT deep sea fishing.

P.S. Well done Rob for managing to BBQ something every night for a week afterwards (ba$t#!d !)
