Love is ...

Last Monday I was en route to work - in no particular hurry - so I decided not to run that orange light and be the law abiding citizen I am instead.  There I was listening to the music for a good 5-10 seconds contemplating the many and wondrous delights that awaited me, when all of a sudden - loud bang; head lashes against headrest, knee cracks into dashboard and there I am a few meters further up the road.  "WTF" - I thought to myself as politely as I could muster up.  I took a look in the rear mirror only to see this little old Asian gentleman (yes I could already tell he was small even though he was sitting down) waving at me.

The damage (at least the visible damage ... trying desperately not to get too emotional right now).  NOTE: The registration plate has been blanked out to protect the identity of the innocent.
So we both pulled over and did the necessary swapping of details, registration and insurance at which point I found out just how old he was.  86 !!  Born in 1927 and still driving around wreaking havoc !

So anyway, he's there shaking away from the shock (God love him) while I'm obviously sprawled all over the ground and half of the car bonnet in pools of blood reeling from the pain, when who drives by only .... my lovely wife.  Immediately recognising the car, she slows down to get a good look and then continues on her merry little way to her golf game that morning.  Admittedly - and in all fairness - I did get a text message about 20 minutes later asking "Are you alright?".

So, love is clearly sending a text message to your husband of 11 years to "check" if he's alright just before teeing off at the first hole ... oh and by the way - the whole experience didn't seem to affect her game either !
