Wave Running

Last Saturday Alma and myself finally decided to cash in our slightly more than one year old Groupon for a Wave Runner trip.  Wave running is where you meet this random guy who's too tanned to have ever spent a single minute of his life indoors; he puts you on a Jet Ski like contraption and then takes off in front of you.  Meanwhile, you've just enough time to fill your pants chasing after him while simultaneously, on the one hand, being blinded by the water spray drenching your sunglasses and on the other hand being deafened by the super religious passenger behind you.  I don't think I've ever heard as many acclamations to the Lord in such a condensed period of time in my life !  Mind you - they were followed by girlie "tee hee's".

Great fun it has to be said.  At one point I managed to take a 1 milli-second look at the speedometer just to see if pants filling volume was proportional to speed - and indeed it was !  48mph was the top speed we managed to reach before that feeling of self-preservation took over.

On one of the little breaks (which provided just enough time for me to peel my fingers off the handle bars), we came across a pod of Dolphins which was pretty cool.  They just swam around and under us for a while and then took off again.  We also saw a couple of seals pop their heads up for a look before swimming off again.  Two hours that just flew (both literally and figuratively) by.

I'm pretty sure we looked this cool - though the colour of the wave runner is all wrong.
